How to Copy a Whiteboard With Your Digital Camera or Camera Phone Using ScanR

Aug 6, 2009 10:34 PM

Ever want the notes on a whiteboard, but didn't have the time to copy them by hand? Here's a fast, easy way to clean up photos of whiteboards.

Take a picture of a whiteboard using your digital camera or camera phone.

Attach your picture to an email message (or picture message if you're using a camera phone).

Address the message to wb@scanR.com.

Send the message.

You will receive an email with a digital copy of the whiteboard in a PDF file.

Tips

  • If you haven't signed up for scanR, you will receive an activation code to set up an account. Follow the instructions to complete sign-up.
  • The image quality is dependent on the quality of your camera. scanR requires a minimum of 1.3 megapixel images.

Warnings

  • Some camera phones have enough resolution but take poor quality pictures. For example, the Motorola V710.
  • Some organizations might frown on sharing whiteboard sessions with third parties such as scanR.com. Be mindful of any privacy/confidentiality rules in your organization.
